These types of papers are targeted for entry-level, lesser experienced and junior personnel in the technologies covered in the paper.

White Paper

A White paper is defined as a paper that describes one particular technology, organized into sections, with Info-boxes, Tables, Figures (Visuals & pictorials) that explain the technology in a simplified manner for the more advanced reader.

The information in the paper is not “unique” or “novel” and may be publicly available but not in the manner presented in the white paper.

These types of papers are targeted for experienced personnel in the technology covered in the paper.

Research Paper

A Research paper is defined as a paper that describes a newer technology, organized into sections, with Info-boxes, Tables, Figures (Visuals & pictorials) that explain the technology in a simplified manner for the more advanced reader.

The information in the paper is “unique” and “novel” and is NOT publicly available.

These types of papers are targeted for advanced personnel in the technology covered in the paper.
